Al lives in Port St. John with his girlfriend of over 3 years, Ann Cullen,
and their dog, Porsche. His mother, Maureen, lives less than a mile away
in the home Al grew up in. Al enjoys golfing, the beach and socializing
with friends when not serving his community.
Al Yorston is a native born Floridian who has been raised, attended school,
and worked right here in Brevard County. Al has been a lifelong public
servant, beginning first with his work as a camp counselor for Brevard
County Parks & Recreation. He also served as a Deputy Clerk for the Brevard
County Clerk of Courts Office, as well as a Special Projects Coordinator
for the Brevard County Housing & Human Services Department. |

Over
the past decade, Al has served as Assistant to three of the five County
Commissioners in Brevard County: |
|
| |
1997
- 2000 |
Assistant
to County Commissioner Nancy Higgs, District 3 |
|
| 2000
- 2002 |
Assistant
to County Commissioner Jackie Colon, District 5 |
|
| 2006
- 2007 |
Assistant
to County Commissioner Chuck Nelson, District 2 |
|
 |
|
This unprecedented record of serving three County Commissioners uniquely
qualifies Al to serve as North Brevard's next County Commissioner. His
dedication to community service can also be measured by his involvement
in many civic and community organizations.
